Get to know the Fenton Historical Society and A.J. Phillips Museum Team Members

The Fenton Historical Society was founded in 1936 by a group consisting of many of the business and government leaders in the City of Fenton at the time. An article in the Fenton Courier ran on February 14, 1936, detailing the election of officers:

Charlie Damon called a meeting to organize a Fenton Historical Society to co-operate with the Genesee County Historical Society. The meeting was held at the law office of Maurice Matthews on Feb 15, at 7:30 PM, 1936. Election of officers were held, President was Dr. M.B. Smith, First vice president was Harry Lemen, 2nd vice president was JC Peck, Secretary, Treasurer was C.A. Damon.

Today the Historical Society meets regularly to research, collect, and protect the history of Fenton.
